The Board is Far from Boring!

The 100 Hour Board. If you don't read it, start.

Yesterday, I attended the Board Booth. I got there around set-up time and was there pretty much all day except when I went to my math class. It was very fun talking--make that mostly listening--to the writers. I figured out many of their 'nyms and a few names, but I'll probably forget most of the latter. I don't want people to stalk, just a face to put with a 'nym. It fleshes out my understanding and puts things into perspective.

I liked helping people when I could, but I felt limited because I have a cold and I didn't want to spread it around to unsuspecting bystanders. I also feel like I should invest in a hanky or something of that nature because my nose was running a marathon and I was coughing far louder and frequently than I wish I did. If I sickened anyone, a thousand apologies!

Today--after getting a very long night's rest in an attempt to get over my cold ASAP--I went to my second Board Reader Party, which several writers attended as well. I guess it was technically a dinner--quite a delectable one, I may say--but I consider most preplanned gatherings of various people a party. Anywho, it was very fun, although again I tended toward more of the listening side, except for the occasional ridiculous comment. I am seriously in need of social skills. I feel like a political inactivist, nodding whenever someone says something, yet thinking about the other perspective. Or maybe I just don't like disagreeing with people unless it either doesn't matter at all or I must say something. Call me a pancake, but I just can't fully make up my mind unless it's not debatable or it's church doctrine or the like.

I am thinking of applying to be a writer again. Technically, I could have done so a couple days ago, but I'm going to wait a little bit. I need to be sure I can do it. Of course there's also the fact that I'm still on a "Holy Cow! The Board is Even More Awesome Than I Realized!" buzz--not that it isn't awesome, but my understanding of it is almost certainly somewhat clouded at this point. Be ye sure that I will give it the utmost thought before I apply again.
